Babangon Ako’t Dudurugin Kita Theme Song

April 1st, 2008 by garrycruz

Badk2_1

I’m proud to be an adopted kapuso. hehehe! Composer na ako hahaha! GMA7 has given me another project through this hit Telenovela Babangon Ako’t Dudurugin Kita. I collaborated with Tata Betita another genius in making theme songs for GMA which happens to be a good friend of mine. I made the music and he put the lyrics, actually it has two versions.Sana Bukas Na and Kung Sana Bukas which is used frequently. This time I’m not a singer but the composer. It was Pinoy pop superstar champ Maricris Garcia who gave a life to the song and together with the sentimental musical arrangement of Mr. Albert Tamayo. More projects from GMA hopefully!

I’m very Abcd0020thankful to the composer for choosing me to interpret her song. The song only  got  recognition but we got the Best in Singing Award So hurray for us!

Abcd0020_1 As for my stay in Taiwan. Well, we didn’t enjoyed it that much coz we are so loaded with schedules. We visited some nice spots and historical venues including  some great temples and thats it.We stayed in Temples most of the time as our hotel which i commended coz they are so nice and clean. And then i became a vegetarian for almost a month coz meet is a Big NO NO for Buddhist especially the Monks! But we skip and sneak out side to eat chicken, pizza and burger if we have a chance and if the Monks are not around hehehehe! You know pinoys are, finding ways just to satisfy their cravings hahaha!Well, hope to be back in Taiwan and i"ll make sure that this time im gonna get some fun.Abcd0003

WALANG YAMAN (MAS HIHIGIT SA’YO)

July 19th, 2007 by garrycruz

Asiantreasures_2

composed by: Tata Betita

Ano ba ang hanap mo
Pwede bang katulad ko
Ang ibigin mo, oh

‘Di mo na kailangan pang
Pumunta sa dulo ng walang hanggan
Para sumaya

REFRAIN
Ipikit mo lang ang ‘yong mata
Ang puso mo’ng makakakita
Ng yamang ‘di inaasahan

CHORUS
Ika’y ginto sa puso ko
Sana ito’y malaman mo
Wala nang yaman sa mundo
Ang mas hihigit sa ‘yo

Wala nang hahanapin pa
Sa ‘yo ako’y kumpleto na
Sana’y malaman mo ito
Walang yamang mas hihigit sa ‘yo

Iwan mo na ang nagdaan
Matutong huwag muling masaktan ang damdamin
Ako’y iyong pansinin

‘Di man ako tulad nila
Walang porma, walang pera
Pero mahal kita, ika’y mahalaga at iingatan pa

[Repeat REFRAIN]
[Repeat CHORUS]

Sana’y malaman mo

Walang yamang mas hihigit sa ‘yo

WALANG YAMAN (ACOUSTIC VERSION)

April 26th, 2007 by garrycruz

Asiantreasures_1 Hi again people! I’d like to post the song entitled, “Walang Yaman”, which I sang for the GMA hit series, “Asian Treasures”. Actually, there are two versions of this song. The rock version was sang by Cueshe and the acoustic version was sang by me. The song was acoustically arranged by Mr. Jun Tamayo. Many of you are probably familiar with this song already… so here’s a chance for you to sing along to the melody. For those who have not heard this song yet, I hope you enjoy listening to it for the first time!

March 1st, 2007 by garrycruz

THE 12TH ANNUAL ASIA-PACIFIC EXCELLENCE AWARD

Wow My first award given by the members of the 12th Annual Asia-Pacific Excellence Awards held last June 9, 2005 at the AFP Theater (Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City). This award is given to those individuals and companies who shows greatness and excellence in th418756812s_1eir own fields.

At first i was  told to perform at the awards night. Though a bit nervous and excited i was not expecting anything and  i know that i won’t be receiving any talent fee coz its a sponsor thing they said. Honored was i coz all the performers are famous and big celebrities. I was curious that night because all the artist who performed before me have received the award in thei412397393s_2r own categories. Then my time comes, after singing the EMCEE ask me to stay at the stage and to my surprise they awarded me THE BEST MALE DISCOVERY. I can’t believe it!! my very first, my heart i full of joy and overwelmed. I had nominations and citations before but this is something. Well, they gave it to me so all i can  say is Thanks and Praise the Lord!

Kahit Mali Ang Puso

Monday, February 19, 2007, 4:00:00 PM | chucksterGo to full article

Every now and then, I’d like to feature artists whom I believe… given the proper opportunity and break, could make it big in the Philippine entertainment industry.

With that being said, I’d like to start out by featuring one of my good friends who has been doing the rounds in the music scene for sometime already.

His name is Garry Cruz. Maybe a few of you have heard about him… probably even listened to his songs. Somewhat of a journeyman, Garry has done numerous gigs in the Metro area and select provinces as well.

His album’s been out for quite a while under BMG Records which I believe could’ve been given a little more promotional support.

Anyhow, one of the songs in his self-titled album is called, "Kahit Mali ang Puso", which he himself composed. A very heart-warming and very commercial tune that I’m sure most pinoys will love listening to.

We Filipinos are hopeless romantics… sentimentalists… we even love to sulk in our own lovestruck sorrow while listening to painful, tear-jerking melodies over and over again. Well, if you find yourself nodding to this fact, then you’re going to love this song. Enjoy.

My Press Release (tagal na 2, sinipag lang)

February 20th, 2007 by garrycruz

Garry Cruz: New Crooner To Watch
By BMG Records Pilipinas
November 12, 2003

These days, the country has been deluged with female singers but only a few male acts. Suddenly, another crooner is out to prove his versatility and be added to the list of the country’s premier balladeers.

Meet Garry Cruz. This former demo and multiplex artist is making waves as he releases his debut album, Kung Alam Mo Lang, under BMG Records Pilipinas. His first single of the same title has been garnering a string of airplay from the country’s top radio stations and requests from listeners.

Originally an entry to Metropop, the single Kung Alam Mo Lang was one of demos Garry did for composer Bong Fernandez. Many singers have expressed interest with the song but he only wanted Garry to sing it. And it worked.

This guy is truly one singer the country can be proud of. Last year, he was chosen as one of the ten finalist in the prestigious Marickville RSL Australian Open, one of the biggest international talent searches in Australia. He competed with over forty contestants all over the world, which also included singer Dulce, who bagged the second prize plum.

To think Garry Cruz almost left the country for good.

"Nothing is happening with my career here so I considered migrating to Australia. But then, BMG heard my demo and the rest his history," Garry said.

The country could have lost another great talent had he pursued his decision.

His love affair with singing began during his elementary days where he frequently joined singing contests whether in school or in barangay fiestas. Garry’s voice was further honed when he became a member of his school choir from elementary up to college. Aside from doing demos for various composers, Garry also shared his talent with other aspiring artists as a vocal coach.

Kung Alam Mo Lang also contains original ballads such "Alaala", "Buong Buhay Ko", and "Iniibig Kita (Pangarap Ko’y Isang Katulad Mo)". Karaoke lovers would have a grand time since minus one version of the tracks is also included in this album. For this album Garry collaborated with composers like Lito Camo and Edwin Marollano. This album also showcases his songwriting skills with his composition
"Kahit Mali ang Puso."
